Prolific film director Kayode kasum, one of the biggest directors in Nollywood at the moment is releasing a musical drama come this August. For that reason. My team and I are full of joy 🤩 🤩🤩.
You might be wondering why so?
Sometime in 2020 during the lockdown when we started shopping around the idea of producing a music drama. We got a lot of naysayers yelling at us. Saying how terrible an idea it is to produce a music drama in Nollywood.
Disguised as wise counsel. They dished out so many discouraging words at us. Words like…
“Nigerians only love comedies”
“Music dramas are for Hollywood audience”
“Why not Afrobeats. Why hiphop? Rap is dead in Nigeria”
“The audience will not buy into the idea of a Rap drama about a Hausa girl”
“Why do you think major studio aren’t producing it”
And on and on they kept going. But thankfully, like the 300 soldiers of Spartan, my team and I remained resolute. We simply refused to cave in. We held on tight to our belief.
Today, we feel validated by Kayode's forthcoming Musical drama. Hence why we can't contain our joy.
And to be honest, we are not just happy because of the validation. Also, we genuinely look forward to enjoying the movie.
Again, why?
Because, it features the musical duo and sensation called THE CAVEMEN. A duo with that Eastern Nigerian vibe and sound that has captivated the heart of audiences all over the world. It also stars Nkem Owoh of Osuofia in London. As well as Onyeka Onwenu, another music legend. Others are Nancy Isime, Sydney Talker, Waje and Dayemi Okanlawon of Blood Sisters.

Watch out for this young actor. Her name is Darasimi. She stars in the movie too and she is incredible. So incredible we have her shortlisted for a role in our production.
